13 years ago (2013), Shane and Justine met through Connexpedition, a year-long volunteer training program that led to a 2-week trip in rural Taiwan. They were just friends at the time.

Fast forward 5 years (2018), Justine found out they were both pursuing a career in tech. She wanted her first big girl internship and used it as an excuse to reach out to Shane (he interned at one of her dream companies the previous year).

(2019) They had their first unofficial date at a hot pot and kbbq place in San Bruno, CA. Fun fact: to this day their favorite meal is sharing hot pot together :)

A few months later, Justine accidentally slipped an "I think youโ€™re cute"-text one night, which led to Shane asking Justine on an official first date to Disneyland. Another fun fact: they celebrate their annual anniversary at Disney every year!

COVID hit in 2020, and what wouldโ€™ve started as long distance unexpectedly turned into a blessing in disguiseโ€”a year in the same city, having the opportunity to hang with each otherโ€™s families, and adventuring the hometown they grew up in, now in a different color.

A year later in 2021, they moved to WA, started raising two adorable holland lop bunnies named Chowder and Hashbrown (rest in peace ๐ŸŒˆ), and look back at this funny story with fondness โค๏ธ
